Henry just came off injured playing for the Dev side , so i guess that will rule him out a swell

Antonio RB at Blackburn then? Assuming he doesn't break both legs on Saturday.

Re: The injury fallout from last night

Unfortunately the victory came at a price as several of the players suffered injuries during the 2-1 victory.

Winston Reid and Joey O'Brien both picked up injuries to their left hamstring and will have a scan on Thursday.

Cheikhou Kouyate lost consciousness during a challenge with Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan.

He came off the pitch with mild concussion and was taken to hospital to clear any further problems. He was cleared by a specialist and is fine now.

The rules stipulate that when a player is concussed, they cannot have significant physical activity for the next six days so he will miss the weekend game against Norwich.

Hopefully if everything is okay we can get him fit for the FA Cup Fifth round tie against Blackburn.

With the game going into extra-time and the players being asked to play 120 minutes, there were a few other knocks and bruises but we hope to recover them in time for the trip to Norwich at the weekend.

James Tomkins injured his left calf during the game against Southampton last Saturday and will be out of action for the next six weeks.

Alex Song also picked up a minor knock against Southampton but we are positive he will be fit for the Norwich game.

We have more positive news with the return of Manuel Lanzini and Diafra Sakho from long-term injuries.

Lanzini is only a few days away before re-joining the team.

Sakho is not far behind him but he needs more work because he has been out for around ten weeks so he will have a period of extra fitness work under his belt.

We hope to see him back in action by the end of the month.

Just relaying what Slav said. Although that was before it transpired he'd gone to hospital

No surprise to see 13 commenting on an injury thread despite apparently no longer posting.

Looked like a calf with JOB
Collins was hobbling a bit a few minutes after he came on but just a collision I think & he seemed to run it off.

Fifth Column 6:19 Wed Feb 10
Re: The injury fallout from last night
What was wrong with JOB anyway? Reid Hamstring, out for weeks, Kouyate head injury, out for this weekend at least.

But JOB?

As long as the rest of them that were hobbling by the end are still OK to play then we're fine for this weekend.

Not from what I saw at the weekend though he was played out of position. He was at least partially at fault for the only goal.

He has the physical gifts but has not had the development of an English player. Would love if we stuck with him and allowed him to be exposed to some of that, even if late. But I said when he signed that he would not be a starter any time soon. Any injuries obviously don't help.

Looked to me that any physical challenge, and there were plenty in both games, we invariably came off second best.

The only decent outcome was Obiang on their Yid. That was a proper reducer.

I imagine if everyone is injured , Oxford would be the most likely starter

I hardly think Henry is in any position to start again , even if he has recovered from injury

He had two surgeries for that and then a sport hernia and said in an interview late last month, I think, that he came back too early. I think that meant when he went there on loan the second time.

Is this recurring problem connected to his hamstring operation last May? Sounds a bit ominous for his future at West Ham.

They sent him back.

Real problems with recurring injuries.

As I said fit enough for half an international friendly at the weekend but only just.

I though Henry had gone back to Blackburn?

Re: The injury fallout from last night
I'm a bit worried Doneil Henry never seems to play after returning from Blackburn early. What's the latest on him? If Collins and Ogbonna avoid injury, we should be ok until Tomkins gets back. Reece Oxford can cover of course, good job the Charlton manager didn't know who he was.

Re: The injury fallout from last night
Looked like a few took a knock last night, whether it's going to affect us at the weekend remains to be seen. Collins, Carroll and Valencia were all visibly hobbling at some point in addition to those that went off.

"Kouyate just dazed"

Far from it. With concussion protocol now, being knocked out (no matter how briefly), Doctors will assume that a concussion has occurred and follow the steps to get him back ready to play.

He'll have to be sign and symptom free before they even begin to reintroduce exercise to him and from there it's a minimum of 4 days. Any signal that the concussion may still be there will set him back to Day 1.....

He'll be out at least a week, if not 2 or 3 would be my guess.

* ...there was a over physicalness to Liverpool's game where we were constantly fouled where they challenged for ball's they had no chance of getting...*

Yes... we've been getting a lot more of that this season... most noticeable when some of the so called 'top' sides are unable to dominate a game to their liking...

The 'free kick that wasn't', the resulting goal, and the point blank refusal of a stonewall penalty for the cynical foul on Valencia, all served to upset / fire up our guys - they really flew into battle after that.
